I’m really wondering now if I need to switch up my tropes, dare I say I like friends-to-lovers more than enemies-to-lovers?! Maybe? I don’t know!
Pham’s debut was BEAUTIFUL.
Her story follows two childhood best friends who begin dating in high school for a short time before breaking up after an accident, not speaking one word to each other for FOUR YEARS. All until Blair, our FMC, comes back into town for her great-aunt’s passing and funeral. Blair thought Declain hated her, and he thought she hated him. After all these years, they finally speak up about what they’re truly feeling and by folly, it’s a great confession and story.
While there is some miscommunication, of course, it’s bound to happen in this plot, it doesn’t linger for long before they’re back into each other’s arms!
I loved this story — it is a great picture to how sometimes you can’t live well without the person whom you love most.
I loved the characters, the ending wasn’t rushed, I really have no complaints.
Okay, maybe a note, my one wish would have been a Declan POV. Man, that would have been awesome!
What an exciting book to read on an exciting vacation!
