Another book in the books! Can I say that? Is that a thing, could that be a thing? Ha!
Anyway, this was a pretty good read. I didn’t give it a 5 like Off-Campus Books 1 & 2, just because it didn’t feel as captivating. Mind you, the situation was just supposed to stay casual, and that’s just something I personally am not a fan of, but a lot of the dialogue was cringy to me!
For a book focused on a secret fling, there was still a lot more romantic scenes than I anticipated, it felt like too much at times. Is this realistic?😂 I wanted to learn more about Allie and Dean as characters themselves. And granted, Elle Kennedy gave us a lot of backstory, but the ending felt rushed. Things are going well, boy makes mistake, girl leaves and dumps him, boy is sad, they make up, the end. It felt rather fast, I was kinda hoping for more yearning and Dean doing more directly for Allie before making up and the story ending.
I would have also liked to see more of Allie and Dean going out as a couple with their friends. Maybe Book 5 is about that? We shall see!
Don’t get me wrong, I was still giggling at the beginning with the flirtatious comments and development of feelings, but it felt like it was missing some substance. There was a lot to unpack all at once. I know Kennedy’s favorite story has been theirs so far, but I was not as much a fan. I think I still favor Book 2, Grace and Logan.
Until next book!📖🫶
